Solomon Thomas NFL
After a record setting season, can Stanford Cardinal defensive end Solomon Thomas make it big in the NFL?
Thomas’ performance against North Carolina in the Sun Bowl showed a national audience what many analysts already knew: this guy is a force to be reckoned with who can take over a game all by himself.
At 6-foot-3 and 258 pounds, Thomas has a tantalizing combination of speed and strength that makes him one of the most promising defensive ends in the country.
“Solomon is explosive, strong, athletic, relentless and he’s worked extremely hard to put himself in the position to be an early draft pick,” Stanford coach David Shaw said. “He’s ready for the next challenge. I’m looking forward to hearing his name called early in the 2017 draft.”
Now, for the negatives.
Thomas doesn’t deal well against bigger offensive linemen and his stamina is a concern as he occasionally looks sluggish and requires some snaps off.
Obviously, this is a major issue and something that will take time to correct.
Despite the negatives surrounding this game, many believe Thomas has the potential to develop into a strong NFL defensive end.

One might argue that the 21-year-old is Stanford’s most eligible bachelor.
But is he available?
The Coppell, Texas native is so focused on football right now he has opted to stay single for the foreseeable future.
